PaperCut – Print And Copy Monitoring

Select Technology is the master distributor for PaperCut MF in the UK. Today’s multi-function devices (MFDs) and copiers are smarter. They have touch screens and the ability to run embedded software directly on the device itself. This new technology has allowed us to bring the popular print management software into the MFD space to track off-the-glass usage – copy, fax and scan. Just like PaperCut NG, PaperCut MF remains vendor agnostic, continuing to support all operating systems and as many MFP/copier vendors as possible.

The PaperCut product range is designed to monitor, audit and control network printing and internet use and/or copying. PaperCut is renowned for its combination of powerful features and ease-of-use. 40-day unrestricted trial versions of PaperCut NG, and PaperCut MF are available for download.

m3i Maestro will allow a user to log on to a Ricoh MFD and then use just a single, integrated user interface to account for and control copying, printing and scanning.

m3i is an innovative software platform running inside Ricoh MFDs that enhances the features and functionality of Ricoh’s Embedded Software Architecture (ESA).  m3i can be used in 2 ways. Firstly, it can be used to provide a simple method whereby Ricoh MFD’s can be significantly customised to an individual customer’s specific requirements. Secondly, it can provide Ricoh dealers or third party companies who do not have the necessary  resources to exploit ESA, a quick and efficient way to create their own discrete solutions without needing to go through the usual lengthy development process.

Initially, Selectec used m3i to develop 3 in-house solutions, Access Module, Billboard and ScanSend in order to demonstrate the potential of the platform. Subsequently, a market leading education software company in the UK used m3i to embed a solution into Ricoh MFDs. Through utilising m3i, the product was brought to market almost a year earlier than had been anticipated by the company’s own developers.
