m3i

m3i is an innovative software platform running inside Ricoh MFDs that enhances the features and functionality of Ricoh’s Embedded Software Architecture (ESA).  m3i can be used in 2 ways. Firstly, it can be used to provide a simple method whereby Ricoh MFD’s can be significantly customised to an individual customer’s specific requirements. Secondly, it can provide Ricoh dealers or third party companies who do not have the necessary  resources to exploit ESA, a quick and efficient way to create their own discrete solutions without needing to go through the usual lengthy development process. 

Initially, Selectec used m3i to develop 2 in-house solutions, Access Module and ScanSend in order to demonstrate the potential of the platform. Subsequently, a market leading education software company in the UK used m3i to embed a solution into Ricoh MFDs. Through utilising m3i, the product was brought to market almost a year earlier than had been anticipated by the company’s own developers.

A Ricoh caption for ESA says “What if it was possible to…?” Ricoh technology – moving ideas forward.   m3i may just be able to move those ideas forward a lot faster!
